Clergy retreat

This Sacred Victim

Monday 5th - Friday 9th October 2026

Preached by Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP

Reflections on the priest
at the altar as sacrificer

“The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: ‘In this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner'” (CCC 1367)

In this retreat, Fr de Malleray will reflect on the liturgical role of the priest and the sacrificial nature of his ministry at the altar.

Drawing on the Church’s long-standing liturgical tradition as expressed in the Traditional Rite of the Roman Church, the retreat will offer a deeper awareness of the Mass as making present the Sacrifice of the Cross.

The retreat will be an opportunity to gain a further understanding of this central aspect of the Mass and of the structure of the Traditional Rite, serving also as an enrichment for the celebration of the New Rite.

  • Secular and religious clergy, deacons and seminarians welcome
  • The retreat will be preached, with opportunities for confession.
  • Clergy are welcome to celebrate Mass individually at their own time or to concelebrate, using both Theodore House Oratory and St Peter’s Church.
  • Daily Holy Hour and Compline.
